B&W Awards
Street Macadam is organizing its first Black & White street photography contest.
This competition will be organized from Saturday 30th of November to Saturday 11th of January.
The results of the competition will be communicated on Saturday 25th of January 2025.
This is open to amateur and professional photographers from around the world who are at least 18 years old at the time of the registration.
The theme of this contest: « Black & White »
This contest is dedicated to Street & Documentary Photography.
Wherever you are in the world, we invite you to send us your most beautiful Black & White street photos. Among all the photos submitted by entrants to the competition, our international jury will choose the 3 winning photos and 20 «special mentions».
Our jury reserves the right to disqualify a participant from the competition if they do not comply with the rules and conditions of the contest.

To enter the photography competition, you will need to follow the link on the home page and carefully follow the instructions of registering, creating your account and paying the fees- which will only only be possible by following the instructions on the registration form.
Registration and participation fees are:
1 photo : 8,00 €
2 photos : 14,00 €
5 photos : 29,00 €
6 to 10 photos : 35,00 €
Registration fees will not be refundable regardless of the outcome of your photo(s) in this competition.

All photo submissions must be made online.
Photos must be sent in JPEG/JPG forme and the file size must not exceed 2MB. The long side of the photo must have a maximum size of 2000 pixels.
The files must be renamed with Last Name, First Name and progressive number (if several photos are sent)
Ex: Last Name_First Name_progressive number.jpg
Any photos not following this renaming will be automatically disqualified.

Each participant retains the copyright of the photos they send.
By participating in the competition the author declares that the photos sent are his property.
Registration and completion of the form by the participant authorizes the competition organizers to use the images submitted for promotional purposes related to the photography competition, including publication on the competition website, on social networks and in videos.

Post production is permitted in order to optimize the image. We allow modifications related to brightness, contrast, texture, color temperature and tone in the case of a conversion to B&W.
Removal of particles or dust on the captor is also permitted.
Photographs must be realistic and not excessively modified, under penalty of exclusion from the competition.
It is permitted to crop photographs, but not to add or remove objects or people.
The use of generative AI through any type of software to modify the content of the photograph or any part thereof is not permitted.
Photograph must not contain any signatures or watermarks.
Photographs cannot have any type of frame.
Photographs with sexually explicit, abusive or defamatory content will not be accepted.
Photographs submitted may have been taken since 2020.
Photos taken before 2020 will not be accepted or considered.
We will ask the 3 winners to send us the file (raw- or original jpeg file) as proof that the photo has not been altered by the addition of an element or massive post-production..

The images will be judged anonymously by our jury.
They will not know the names or any details of the participants. On the basis of this judgment, the finalists will be chosen.
Our 10 judges will choose 10 photos from all the photos received. These photos will then be shared on our Instagram page under the tag « Editor’s Pick ».
These photos will be in final
All photos up to the closing day of the competition will also be submitted to our jury for voting. Some of these photos will be included in the final phase.
The international jury will then designate the 3 winners and the 20 special mentions.

Participants authorize the competition organizer to use their data for the competition or for legal and associative reasons.
Personal data will be used by the organizer to communicate the result of the competition and for future competitions.

Keigo Nakamura
Is born in Tokyo and worked at a securities company that trades securities.
In December 2014, his father passed away from liver cancer, and he started Instagram to change his mood after the loss.
It was around 2015 that he started to enjoy photography a little, and he picked up an Olympus OM10, a film camera that his father had used, and started taking black and white photography.
He started the Fog series in the latter half of 2017, but was not satisfied with the results.
In the middle of 2019, he met a gentleman on the street. The gentleman's atmosphere was so attractive that he completed the fog series.
His photographs, which are half documentary and half conceptual mix, have become his signature work.

Nina Papiorek
Her visual language is characterized by a distinctive aesthetic.
In her black and white compositions she prefers to capture the interplay between lines, architectural forms and the presence of people.
Her photographs combine elements of street photography, urban landscape and fine art photography.Underlined by her distinctive minimalist approach, which runs like a common thread through all her work, the connection between people and their urban surroundings becomes the focus of her photographic narratives.
Nina is a multiple internationally award-winning photographer whose work has been featured in a large number of exhibitions and publications worldwide.
She is a winner of the international photo awards (IPA), Monovision Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards or the « Prix de la Photographie Paris », among others.
She is also a multiple Hasselblad Masters finalist.
Nina has contributed to several book projects and she’s the author of online photography courses.
She is also the co-founder of the Düsseldorf street collective “dorfcollective”.
Nina is based in Germany, following her passion for more than 20 years.

F.Dilek Yurdakul
was graduated from GU, Faculty of Law, she started her master's degree in Labor and Social Security Law. She is still a lawyer and also lecture photography at universities.
She focus on travel, street and documentary photography. She is trying to make the unseen visible, the voiceless heard and to turn attention to socially important issues like Covid19, Cancer, Worker health and occupational safety, child workers problem, education of girls, climate change through her photography. Masterful use of light is her signature.
As a photographer, she made many speeches at Universities, Photograph Associations and TEDx.
Her goal is to increase social awareness and recognition with her stories and to inspire young women in her country and all over the world.
She joined many international exhibitions and won over 200 awards.
She take part as a judge in International Photo Contests all around the world.
She is still a Photographer for National Geographic YS and National Geographic Turkey.

The Treviso photographic festival will be held from 04 to 25 September 2025 -it will be the 8th edition.

We exhibit inside museums, the Cloister of San Francesco and many squares in the city with a very large park of structures.
Over the years, we have hosted world-class artists and talented people.
We like to observe that many of our participants have won numerous international awards over the years.
Docu Magazine is a small, independent print publication from Finland, dedicated to contemporary photography. We publish both special and regular editions and are always on the lookout for new photographers to collaborate with. Print is not dead!
